My name is Jim Nelson and I am the owner of Collector's Edge LLC.  Collector's Edge was founded in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1992 by my father, James E. Nelson Sr.   Dad started collecting knives back in the early seventies and spent many years travelling to all the local shows across the midwest.  He and his good friend, Frank Phelps, focused on Case knives and between the two of them brought home many awards.  Best of Show and Best Case Display awards found their way to Dad's trophy shelf on several occasions.  Dad's complete Case Trapper collection is, in my opinion, what started the trend for Case to begin making custom limited addition trappers.  After over twenty years of collecting, Dad decided that knives truly were his passion.  He and another good friend, Fred Ulrich, opened a small store on the outside edge of Indianapolis and Collector's Edge was born.  Eventually, Dad bought Fred out and became the sole proprietor.  Fred opened a new store and is still in business today.  Dad continued to run the store until 2005.  In 2006 I purchased Collector's Edge from my father.  My Dad passed in January of 2007 and he is sorely missed.  This site is dedicated to my father and all of his fellow collectors, customers, and friends.  It is also dedicated to my wife, Sandy, who has supported me during a difficult year of transition.  Collector's Edge LLC is now incorporated in the state of Colorado and is located in Colorado Springs.  I share my father's passion for knife collecting.  I also share his dedication to good customer service.  I know you have a choice on where to purchase your knives and I believe customer service is what sets Collector's Edge LLC above the rest.  I hope you enjoy our products.
